Front cover For the front cover I decided to use conventions from both Lana's and Rihanna's front cover. One of the main conventions that I followed/challenged was the placement of the eyes. Much like Lana's (although a mid shot, mine an ECU) she is looking into the camera at the audience- this front cover follows Goodwin's theory of audience and visuals, on my front cover above, the eyes are looking straight at the audience, this creates a sort uncomfortable feeling for the audience. Throughout the digi pak I added a scratch effect over the images, this allowed for the digi pak to look more worn/authentic and made it seem like a personal belonging of the artist further adding a sense of privacy to it. I also enhanced the colour of the eyes, this made them the prominent feature on the front cover which was the intention as it correlated with my music video. Lana Del Rey-Born to Die Front cover The main image of the digipak is of the artist. As she is at the centre of this image, it highlights that this project is going to be based around personal experience that she has endured.The image used here also follows Goodwin's theory of creating a star image, the mid shot of Lana, making her a vital aspect of this project, also she is connecting the audience to her music by looking into the camera, this is called direct address, making the audience feel they are getting a glimpse into her life. Moreover, the simplistic colours and background setting used places all of the audience's focus on her. The contrasting of the title colours also creates an eye-catching display for the audience. Furthermore, as the picture is of the artist, her fans are more likely to buy the album. My ancillary task: Name of Artist I followed the convention of placing the name of the artist in the middle of the advertisement. I also played around with the spacing between each letter, I feel this made the name more prominent within the advertisement, meaning the audience are more inclined to read the name of the artist. Also making the name bold enhancing the chance of catching the audiences eye. Picture  All of my influential advertisements contain a picture that has some synergy to their project/album, as I created the music video I wanted to keep the synergy within my advertisement, I used a still from my filming- the ECU of eyes within my music video is very prominent so I thought this was best suited for my advertisement. Train Station This location is one of the most crucial in terms of translating my narrative through the camera work. The continual placement of train station shots will be used to symbolise the idea of suicide. As supported in my pitch, I want a subtle narrative in my music video, I feel the station will aid me in achieving this. Graveyard  This location will be used to symbolic of death, highlighting to the audience that one of the characters has died, I will also get a shot of the character placing a rose of on a graveyard. This location won't appear until the second to last bridge of the song as I want to make subtle hints with shots lasting around 2 seconds first before I give my viewers a long 5 second shot of the graveyard.
